[This tour can be done in 7 days, however we recommend taking 10 days by stopping and staying at some of the locations along the way.]
Take a 10-day self-guided tour through Noosa to Rainbow beach – starting by travelling through our beautiful Noosa hinterland with miraculous hilltops and mesmerizing lakes. Then pass Sunshine Beach, an amazing cove with beautiful deep blue water and breathtaking sights, and Noosa Main Beach, a very bright and clear beach with plenty of space to swim in.
After spending a few hours at Noosa and Sunshine beach, finish up at Rainbow beach, an extremely sandy and picturesque waterfront that owns a brilliant sunset.With some time to spend, stay the night at Rainbow beach and in the morning, Take a day trip to Fraser Island. Next morning have an early start and breakfast in Gympie, a rural town with hills lined with shops and houses, a fine place to delve into the history of the town as the majority has not been restored.
Then travel the South Burnett through Goomeri, a quiet town that is well known for its food. Goomeri houses many different styles of dining options such as: country food, gourmet cheeses, fine dining, award winning pies and locally grown olives. It is also the gateway to the South Burnett wine district, vineyards where ever you look.
After Goomeri, pass through Wondai and head to Kingaroy. Kingaroy is the largest town in the South Burnett, it has its own shopping mall and accomodation such as hotels, motels and caravan parks. It also houses restaurants and fast food outlets. On your way to the Bunya Mountains, head through Kumbia, a small town where Warren Truss and the Deputy PM of Australia used to live. At the Bunya Mountains, the many walking tracks can be a great use of time where you can snap a picture of the giant and sacred Bunya pine trees, or why not have a picnic?
Once you’ve finished at the Bunya Mountains, head south to Jondaryan, where every year the Jackie Howe festival is held in the first weekend of September. Then through towards Warwick. Warwick is your next stop, where you can relax and have a picnic at Leslie Dam, or watch the exciting races at Morgan Park Raceway where motor vehicle races are held during the year, or, if you’re a railway enthusiast, visit the Southern Downs Steam Railway where you can check out the old steam engines. Stay the night in one of Warwick’s comfortable and affordable motels.
From Warwick head inland through the mountains via Clarence road, down to Tenterfield, then to New England highway down to Armidale. [You could spend an extra day here checking out some great roads south of Armidale] After spending the night in the picturesque Armidale, head east though Waterfall Way and stop wherever you like along the way, we recommend 30 Hickory street, Dorrigo, ‘The worlds smallest motorcycle museum’ and have a coffee. Coffs Harbour is filled with attractions such as tons of walking tracks, go kart tracks and paintball arenas.
Enjoy spending some time in Coffs harbour, then ride along Coramba Road, through Nana Glen, Kungala and Grafton to Casino. Around the Casino area, there are many brilliant motorcycle roads that will make for a great ride. After spending the night in one of Casino’s easily affordable accommodation choices, head north-east to the Gold Coast, following the B91 through Kyogle and Rathdowney. At the Gold coast there are many opportunities for a great holiday. You can visit places such as Broadbeach, Surfer’s Paradise, Lamington National Park etc. So many things to do!
When you’ve finished up your time in the huge Gold Coast area, return back to Aussie Biker in Noosaville via the many back roads in the Gold Coast, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast Hinterlands such as Mt. Tambourine, Mt. Glorious and Montville/Maleny to put an end your great journey.
